SMU safety Ahmaad Moses has been named the Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week, following a dominant performance in the Mustangs’ upset win over No. 10 Miami.

Moses posted a career-high 15 tackles, including two tackles for loss, and recorded two key interceptions, both leading to SMU touchdowns, including a game-sealing takeaway in overtime.

With this honor, Moses becomes just the sixth SMU player to receive a Walter Camp National Player of the Week award and the first Mustang defender to do so since 2016.

The Mansfield Summit alum now ranks tied for first nationally in total interceptions (5) and leads the conference in interceptions per game (0.56). He anchors an SMU defense that ranks first in the nation in turnovers gained (22), fourth in interceptions (14), and fourth in red zone defense (0.647).

This week’s recognition adds to Moses’ growing list of honors, including Senior Bowl Stock Up Defensive Player of the Week and ACC Defensive Back of the Week. Earlier this season, he was named ACC DB of the Week for his 95-yard pick-six against East Texas A&M.

LENOIR CITY, TN.  — The Lenoir City Panthers have found their new leader on the gridiron, naming Notre Dame offensive coordinator Rusty Bradley as the program’s next head football coach.

Bradley brings a proven track record of success and leadership to a Panthers program that will begin the upcoming season with its sixth head coach in as many years. Known for his offensive innovation and ability to build winning cultures, Bradley is expected to bring both stability and excitement to Lenoir City football.

A two-time state champion, Bradley led Knoxville Christian Academy to back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011, establishing himself as one of the top young coaches in Tennessee high school football.

Bradley began his head coaching career at KCA in 2007, guiding the program through nine successful seasons. He later spent the 2016 season at University School of Jackson, posting a 9-4 record and a deep playoff run before returning to Knoxville in 2017 to take over at Grace Christian Academy, where he compiled a 29-17 record over four years.

Most recently, Bradley served as the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame High School, helping shape one of the area’s most dynamic offenses.

Bradley takes over for Billy Coleman, who went 1-7 in his lone season leading the Panthers.

With a history of championship pedigree, offensive firepower, and player development, Bradley’s arrival signals a new chapter for Lenoir City football, one built on experience, energy, and a clear vision for long-term success.

DALLAS, TX – Following a thrilling 26-20 overtime victory over No. 10 Miami, SMU Football has been named the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Team of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA). The win marked the Mustangs’ first triumph over a top-10 opponent since the 1983 Cotton Bowl and their highest-ranked home win since 2016.

Quarterback Kevin Jennings led the Mustangs with a career performance, while running back T.J. Harden sealed the victory with a one-yard touchdown in overtime. Safety Ahmaad Moses set up the game-winning score with an interception at the 1-yard line, his second of the night, capping a dominant defensive effort that included a career-high 15 tackles and two tackles for loss.

Moses earned multiple national honors for his play, including Senior Bowl Stock Up Defensive Player of the Week and ACC Defensive Back of the Week, while Jennings was recognized on the Davey O’Brien Great 8 and Manning Award Stars of the Week lists.

Receiver Jordan Hudson also made history with career-highs of 11 catches for 136 yards, becoming the first Mustang with 10+ receptions in a game since Rashee Rice in 2022.

This recognition marks SMU’s third FWAA Team of the Week award and first since 2019. The Mustangs have now won 13 straight home conference games and stand 12-1 in ACC play since joining the conference.
