Class of 2026 OL Khalil Sanogo commits to the University of Arizona.

The University of Arizona continues to build for the future in the trenches, securing a big commitment from rising Texas offensive lineman Khalil Sanogo, a 3-star prospect out of Mansfield Legacy High School. Measuring in at 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, Sanogo brings a rare blend of size, athleticism, and technical polish that has made him one of the most intriguing offensive tackle prospects in the state of Texas.

Sanogo chose the Wildcats over a strong list of offers that included UNLV, North Carolina, and California, signaling Arizona’s growing footprint in recruiting highly-coveted players out of Texas. His decision gives the Wildcats a cornerstone piece for their offensive line in the coming years.

Elite Tools at the Tackle Position

Sanogo possesses the kind of raw traits that college offensive line coaches dream about. His long frame and extended reach make him a natural fit at tackle, where he consistently showcases the ability to protect the edge against speed rushers. What makes him even more special is how well he moves at his size.

He displays exceptional lateral quickness, fluid hip bend, and nimble footwork, traits that allow him to mirror defenders and adjust to stunts and blitzes with ease. His pass protection is anchored by a powerful punch at the point of engagement, often stunning defensive linemen before they can even execute their move.

In the run game, Sanogo is just as impactful. He has shown the ability to fire off the line with authority, maintain leverage, and reach the second level with ease. His combination of strength, body control, and finishing ability makes him a force when climbing to linebackers or sealing the edge.

A Standout Junior Season & Dominant Offseason

Sanogo’s on-field production backs up his physical tools. As a junior, he was named Second-Team All-District in District 3-6A, competing against some of the top programs and prospects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. His consistent play and leadership on the offensive line helped anchor a competitive Mansfield Legacy offense.

Following his strong junior campaign, Sanogo put together an outstanding offseason, raising his stock at every stop. He earned Lineman MVP honors at multiple national camps, including:

  • FBU Dallas Camp MVP

  • You Are Athlete Dallas Camp MVP

  • You Are Athlete All-American Showcase Lineman MVP

These performances solidified his reputation as one of the top linemen not just in Texas, but across the region.

What Arizona is Getting

Sanogo is a high-upside prospect who brings a mix of immediate physical readiness and long-term developmental potential. With college-level strength and conditioning, plus continued refinement of his technique, he has the tools to become a multi-year starter and impact player for the Wildcats. His versatility also makes him valuable, while he projects best at tackle, his frame and skill set could allow for inside flexibility if needed.

Arizona is not only getting a player who can help protect future quarterbacks and open lanes in the run game, they’re getting a competitor, leader, and technician with a ceiling that could extend to the professional level.

This commitment is a statement for the Arizona staff, proving they can go into Texas, a traditionally competitive recruiting ground and pull out one of the state’s premier offensive line talents.
