CHARLOTTE, N.C. (SMU) – SMU safety Ahmaad Moses has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Defensive Back of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Moses was a standout in the Mustangs’ 42-13 victory over East Texas A&M, recording four solo tackles and returning an interception 95 yards for a touchdown. The defensive score marked the second of his career and the longest to date.
This is the second time Moses has earned the weekly honor. He previously received the recognition last season after posting a career-best two interceptions, including a 60-yard pick-six, in SMU’s 66-42 win over TCU on Sept. 21.
Entering the 2025 season, Moses was already on the national radar, earning spots on several prestigious lists, including:
Phil Steele’s Preseason All-ACC Second Team
Athlon Sports’ All-ACC First Team
Senior Bowl Top 300 List
East-West Shrine Bowl 1000
With his latest performance, Moses continues to prove why he is one of the top safeties in the ACC and a key leader for the Mustang defense. He will look to build on this momentum as SMU prepares for its upcoming game against Baylor at home.
