Breaking News: Edmond (OK) C/O 2028 QB Laykon Brassfield Transfers to Lewisville, Bringing Elite Arm Talent to DFW

One of the more intriguing young quarterback prospects in the region is making a move to Texas. Class of 2028 quarterback Laykon Brassfield has officially transferred from Edmond North High School in Oklahoma to Lewisville High School, joining the Fighting Farmers program in the highly competitive Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex.

At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Brassfield already possesses the physical tools that college programs covet at the quarterback position. The rising prospect brings a versatile and dynamic skill set to Lewisville’s offense, highlighted by a quick release, impressive arm strength, and the ability to push the football to every level of the field. Whether working the intermediate passing game or attacking defenses vertically, Brassfield has shown the arm talent necessary to stretch defenses and create explosive plays.

Accuracy is another strong point of his game. Brassfield consistently delivers catchable, well-timed throws, allowing receivers to work in stride and maximize yards after the catch. His ability to read coverage and distribute the football efficiently makes him a quarterback capable of operating a modern spread offense.

Beyond his arm talent, Brassfield also offers valuable athleticism and mobility. He displays strong pocket presence, keeping his eyes downfield while navigating pressure. When plays break down, he has the agility and awareness to escape the pocket and extend plays, either finding open receivers or picking up yards with his legs. That dual-threat capability adds another dimension to Lewisville’s offensive attack.

The transfer comes at an important time for a Lewisville program that reached the playoffs last season and continues to compete in one of the deepest talent pools in Texas high school football. The Fighting Farmers have consistently produced high-level athletes, and the addition of Brassfield gives the offense another promising young playmaker under center.

Moving into the DFW high school football landscape will provide Brassfield with the opportunity to develop against some of the best competition in the country. Texas football is widely regarded as one of the premier proving grounds for quarterbacks, and performing in that environment could help accelerate his growth and national recruiting profile.

For Lewisville, the addition of Brassfield strengthens an already talented roster and adds long-term upside at the quarterback position. For the young signal caller, the move to Texas represents an opportunity to showcase his talent on one of the sport’s biggest stages as he continues his development in the Class of 2028 recruiting cycle.
