SMU senior safety Ahmaad Moses has been recognized as the Panini Senior Bowl Stock Up Defensive Player of the Week, the organization announced Monday.
Moses delivered a dominant performance in the Mustangs’ upset win over No. 10 Miami, recording a career-high 15 tackles, including two tackles for loss, and two interceptions. Both takeaways set up SMU touchdowns on the ensuing drives, with one coming in overtime to halt Miami’s possession and seal the victory.
Nationally, Moses is tied for first in total interceptions (5) and leads the conference in interceptions per game (0.56), ranking fifth among all FBS players. He has been a key leader for an SMU defense that currently ranks No. 1 in the nation in turnovers gained (22), No. 4 in passes intercepted (14), and No. 4 in red zone defense (0.647), all marks that lead the conference.
Earlier this season, Moses earned ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors following the Mustangs’ opener against East Texas A&M, when he returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown.
Before the 2024 campaign, Moses was named to several prestigious watch lists, including the Phil Steele Preseason All-ACC Second Team, Athlon Sports Preseason All-ACC First Team, the Panini Senior Bowl Top 300, and the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 List.
