The Week That Will Be…Week 5

Just one week after losing for the first time in 10 games, McCallie tries to avoid dropping two straight for the first time since 2021, when one of California’s best programs, Mission Viejo, comes calling.

East Hamilton continues to surge as it begins region play Friday night against a struggling Lenoir City squad that has lost three straight.

Walker Valley looks to do its part to keep pace with the likes of the aforementioned East Hamilton, among others, in Class 5A, Region 3, as it travels to Ooltewah to face an Owls team it has beaten four straight times.

Fourth-ranked Tyner (3A) welcomes 10th-ranked Marshall (4A) in yet another non-region opponent the Rams will face this year.

Bradley Central and Red Bank will tee it up for the 63rd time in a pretty evenly played series. BC holds a slight edge at 30-29-3.

No matter where you land on Friday night, Week 5 offers a little bit of everything. From marquee non-region showdowns, to pivotal region openers and rivalries that never lose their edge. As the season approaches its midway point, every snap starts to carry just a little more weight.
