The Flex Zone 1v1 Challenge brought together some of the top up-and-coming football talent in the region for a day of intense competition, elite positional work, and evaluation. From promising middle school prospects to rising seniors ready to make a final impression before their senior seasons, the camp featured a diverse range of athletes who took full advantage of the spotlight. The following players stood out as MVPs or made a major statement with their performances.
Brennan Barton – Quarterback MVP
Class of 2026 | Benbrook High School
The 2026 signal caller has a live arm, sharp mechanics and a high football IQ. What stood out most was his ability to throw accurately while on the move and his athleticism. Barton’s throws had great velocity and timing, and he thrived in competitive reps against talented defensive backs. He’s coming off an All-District season, having led Benbrook to a deep playoff run in 2024, and was recently impressive at the Texas 7v7 championships in College Station. A multi-sport athlete with leadership qualities and plenty of tools to work with, Barton is trending toward being a recruitable college prospect. He checks every box.
Waylin Barton – Defensive Back MVP
Class of 2026 | Benbrook High School
At 6-feet tall with long arms and a lean frame, Barton has the ideal build for a cornerback. He combined that length with a physical play style and great technique at the line of scrimmage, often redirecting receivers early and disrupting route timing. His hip mobility, ability to break on the ball, and closing speed were evident throughout the camp session. He competed with confidence and consistency in every matchup. As the recruiting spotlight grows brighter on Benbrook, Barton should be one of the first names college coaches inquire about. His ceiling is high, and his versatility could make him a fit at outside corner or even as a boundary safety in certain schemes.
Javion Broussard – Wide Receiver MVP
Class of 2027 | Dallas Kimball
Broussard has a strong understanding of route pacing and how to attack leverage. He consistently found ways to create separation with clean footwork and used his quickness shake loose from defenders. His hands were consistent, and he showed the ability to stack DBs early in his routes. He’s a receiver reliable hands with room to grow physically.

Bradley is a disruptive player at the line of scrimmage. He has a quick first step, uses great hand placement, and consistently plays with excellent leverage. His strength and explosion off the snap make it tough for linemen to stay in front of him. He showed maturity and coachability, and if he continues to refine his technique, he has the tools to become a productive player in the future.

Built like a high school-ready running back already, Ayangbile impressed with his explosive lower-body power, balance through contact, and crisp route running. Pope is a polished route runner who understands how to get open. Alijah Hale – Wide Receiver
Class of 2026 | West Mesquite
Hale might have been the quickest athlete on site. He has an electric first step, changes direction without losing speed, and showed soft, reliable hands throughout the day. He was tough to cover in space and consistently made defenders miss. He’ll be a weapon this fall for West Mesquite and has the skill set to draw college attention this season.

Brinton plays along the defensive line during the season but camped at Flex Zone as a DB and turned heads. He showed surprising agility, excellent lateral quickness, and fluid hips for his size at 5-foot-11 195 pounds. His ability to cover in space, combined with his natural physicality, makes him an ideal candidate to play outside linebacker or nickel at the next level. He could be a late bloomer that becomes a valuable get for a college program.
Noah Pelaez- Quarterback
Class of 2029 | Mesquite Poteet
Peleaz has a quick release, he has clean footwork, combined with excellent pocket posture and he showed his skill set early during the QB drills. He has the arm talent to fit the football into tight coverage and his accuracy in the short to intermediate zones was on full display in the quarterback drills. Perez has the tools to develop into a playmaker you need to know over at Poteet in the future on Friday nights.
