Donnell Gee Jr., a 3-star wide receiver from Allen High School, is one of the most exciting recruits of the 2025 class in the state of Texas—and he’s already committed to the University of Tulsa (According to 247Sports). Gee’s combination of skill, toughness, and athleticism makes him a valuable addition to the Golden Hurricanes roster. As both a wide receiver and return specialist for the Allen Eagles, he’s proven to be a dynamic, game-changing talent in multiple phases of the game.

As a wide receiver, Gee has already racked up 566 total receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns. His ability to make plays in critical situations, particularly in the red zone, has been one of the defining features of his game. Whether it's a jump ball in one-on-one coverage in the back of the end zone, an over the shoulder grab down the sideline or a crucial third-down conversion on a comeback route, Gee has demonstrated the ability to rise to the occasion. His exceptional catch radius and knack for making spectacular grabs—often with tight coverage—make him a constant threat on the field.

One area where Gee truly excels is in red zone situations. With his physicality, leaping ability, and strong hands, he’s developed into a go-to target when the field shrinks and every possession counts. His ability to win contested catches in man-to-man coverage is a skill that will translate seamlessly to the college game, where teams look for reliable playmakers in the end zone. Whether it’s a fade route or a simple jump ball, Gee’s ability to come down with the catch is one of his defining traits.

Gee’s precise route running and natural ability to create separation allow him to consistently get open. His combination of speed and agility, especially after the catch, enables him to take simple plays and turn them into big gains. Against Plano East, for example, Gee caught six passes for two touchdowns and 69 yards—showcasing both his big-play ability and his consistent hands.

In addition to his success as a receiver, Gee is a dangerous weapon in the return game. So far this season, he’s accumulated 425 total return yards (both punt and kickoff returns), adding yet another dimension to his game. With his speed, vision, and quick decision-making, Gee has the ability to take any return to the house. His explosiveness in the return game makes him a constant threat, forcing teams to be cautious when kicking to him.

As Gee prepares to join the University of Tulsa, his ability to impact the game in multiple ways will give the Golden Hurricane a versatile weapon on both offense and special teams. His knack for making spectacular catches, his ability to break big plays in the return game, and his competitive nature make him a player to watch in the coming years.

With his well-rounded skill set and his ability to deliver in clutch moments, Donnell Gee Jr. is set to become a key player for the Golden Hurricane—and one who can make an immediate impact in college football.
