Standout Playmakers: North Crowley vs Euless Trinity Scrimmage

The North Crowley Panthers, defending Class 6A Division I state champions, and the Euless Trinity Trojans, a 2024 playoff team, squared off in a highly anticipated preseason scrimmage that featured no shortage of standout performances. North Crowley returned a wealth of talent and looked every bit the part of a contender, while Trinity debuted a new quarterback and added fresh wrinkles to its traditionally physical style of play. The matchup served as an early measuring stick for both programs and showcased several players who appear poised for breakout seasons.

Damarion Mays – WR – North Crowley

A four-star 2028 national recruit who continues to separate himself as the top wide receiver in his class. He combines elite size and speed with a large catch radius and strong, violent hands at the point of attack. Mays showed polish in his routes, exploding out of breaks to create separation. He hauled in a physical, contested touchdown grab over top defensive back John Meredith III, displaying toughness and focus in traffic.

Kiante Ingram – RB – North Crowley

A shifty and sudden 2027 running back with a deadly jump cut and the vision to set up blocks at the second level. His exceptional contact balance allows him to bounce off would-be tacklers, and his soft hands make him a dangerous receiving threat out of the backfield. He is equally capable of hurting defenses between the tackles or in open space and is primed for more than one thousand yards of total offense this season.

Mack Lineweaver – QB – Euless Trinity

The new 2027 starter brought calm command to Trinity’s offense. He combines high-end arm talent with athleticism, allowing him to extend plays and make accurate throws on the move. Lineweaver showed confidence in the pocket, delivering strikes to multiple levels. His presence signals a more balanced attack for Trinity while maintaining the program’s trademark physical identity.

Juntavious Harris – RB – Euless Trinity

A Texas State commit with a powerful compact frame and an explosive first step. Harris runs behind his pads with authority, shedding arm tackles and finishing runs forward. He demonstrated patience in letting blocks develop before hitting the hole at full speed. He scored on the ground and proved he is just as dangerous as a receiver, making him a true three-down back with both burst and physicality.

John Turntine III – OL – North Crowley

A Texas commit who anchored the Panthers’ offensive line with dominance and control. Turntine displayed elite foot quickness for his size, keeping defenders in front of him and winning leverage battles early in the rep. He consistently neutralized pass rushers and generated push in the run game, setting a physical tone up front.

Jaylon Donaldson – WR – Euless Trinity

A 2026 vertical threat with blazing acceleration and the ability to stack defensive backs downfield. Donaldson possesses strong and reliable hands paired with smooth ball tracking, which allowed him to haul in an over-the-shoulder touchdown that showcased his body control. He is a legitimate deep-play weapon who forces defenses to account for him on every snap.

Hayden Green – WR – North Crowley

A 2028 big-bodied receiver with a physical style and the straight-line speed to win deep. Green uses crisp releases off the line to keep defensive backs guessing, and his length creates mismatches. He beat coverage cleanly over the top for a long touchdown, displaying his ability to high-point the football and finish plays in stride.

John Meredith III – DB – Euless Trinity

Widely regarded as the top 2027 corner in the state. Meredith uses his length and patience in press coverage to disrupt routes at the line of scrimmage. He transitions smoothly from the jam into his backpedal with fluid hips and elite recovery speed. Matching up against Damarion Mays, he battled throughout the day, forcing tight windows and limiting explosive plays.

King Irvin – OL – North Crowley

A 2029 prospect with a college-ready frame and impressive quickness for his size. Irvin plays with strength at the point of attack, using his hands effectively to control defenders. He showed maturity well beyond his age, winning both run and pass protection reps. His dominant performance earned him a Texas A&M offer immediately after the scrimmage, a rare achievement for a freshman lineman.

Gordon Mohetau – LB – Euless Trinity

A 2026 linebacker who diagnoses plays instantly and attacks downhill with purpose. Mohetau is a physical tackler who takes on blocks, sheds effectively, and finishes with force. He showed the range to work sideline to sideline without losing power at the point of contact. Consistently around the football, he holds offers from Sacramento State and Miami of Ohio.
