Top Texas Prospect, 3-Star WR Kohen Brown Commits to USC

USC continues to strengthen its 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of Kohen Brown, a three-star wide receiver from Waxahachie High School (TX). The 6-foot, 190-pound playmaker is ranked No. 87 in Texas and the No. 77 wide receiver in the nation, according to Rivals.com.

Brown, a two-year starter at Waxahachie, chose the Trojans over offers from SMU, Baylor, Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan State, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech. With USC set to transition into Big Ten play, Brown’s versatility and speed add another dynamic weapon to the Trojans’ offensive arsenal.

Breakout Junior Season

During his junior year, Brown showcased his ability as an explosive offensive threat, hauling in 54 receptions for 1,084 yards and 11 touchdowns. In addition to his work as a receiver, he contributed 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, proving his ability as a dual-threat playmaker.

Brown also saw snaps at cornerback, where he recorded 11 tackles and two sacks, highlighting his athleticism and physicality on both sides of the ball.

Elite Skill Set

Brown’s game is built on elite quickness, strong hands, and next-level speed. His ability to stretch the field and create yards after the catch makes him a dangerous weapon in both short and deep passing situations. He excels at tracking the ball on deep throws, and his 10.69-second 100-meter time this spring further emphasizes his game-breaking speed.

A physical runner, Brown thrives on jet sweeps and bubble screens, showing an impressive burst after contact. His acceleration allows him to quickly separate from defenders, making him a true big-play threat at all levels of the field.

Potential at USC

With his combination of speed, versatility, and playmaking ability, Brown has the potential to earn early playing time in USC’s offense. He can line up both in the slot and on the outside, giving the Trojans flexibility in how they utilize him.

As one of the top wide receivers in Texas for the 2026 class, Brown brings a skill set that fits well within USC’s offensive scheme. With continued development, he could emerge as a key contributor in the Trojans’ passing attack for years to come.
