Tennessee High School Football — Week 8
Week 8 of the Tennessee high school football season shined a light on some of the state’s most outstanding performers. From record-breaking quarterback play to clutch special teams execution, these athletes delivered when the lights were brightest on Friday night.
Andre Adams | QB | Antioch
Andre Adams was simply unstoppable in one of the most exciting games of the year. The Antioch quarterback accounted for 489 total yards and nine touchdowns, leading the Panthers to a thrilling 64-62 victory over Franklin Road Academy. Adams’ performance was nothing short of heroic, showcasing his ability to take over a game with both his arm and legs.
Owen Maddox | PK | Notre Dame Catholic
In a low-scoring battle between two defensive powerhouses, Owen Maddox’s consistency and composure made the difference. The senior placekicker connected on three field goals, including a 52-yard bomb, helping Notre Dame Catholic secure a 15-7 win over Chattanooga Christian. Maddox’s precision extended the Irish’s winning streak to four and cemented his reputation as one of the state’s top kickers.
EJ Gibson | RB | Ensworth
EJ Gibson powered the Ensworth offense to a big win, rushing for 170 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-21 victory over Christ Presbyterian Academy. Gibson’s combination of vision and physicality wore down the defense as the Tigers pulled away late. When Ensworth needed key yardage, Gibson delivered again and again.
Jared Curtis | QB | Nashville Christian
Jared Curtis continued his impressive season with another commanding performance. The Nashville Christian quarterback threw for nearly 300 yards and accounted for five total touchdowns in a 49-42 win over Tyner. Curtis displayed excellent command of the offense, making big plays in critical moments to keep the Eagles’ playoff momentum rolling.
From big throws and powerful runs to clutch kicks, Week 8 once again proved that Tennessee high school football is packed with talent, determination, and unforgettable Friday night performances.
