The regular season is headed down the backstretch with the postseason just beyond the horizon. Here's a look at Jay Pace’s Weekly Power Poll for Tennessee High School Football.
Leading the pack is Oakland (8-0), maintaining its grip on the No. 1 spot with another dominating win. Nipping at its heels at No.2 is Baylor (7-0) with Brentwood Academy (7-0) coming in at no.3
The middle of the rankings is a solid group of undefeated squads who figure to contend for state titles in their respective classes. The list includes defending Division II-A champ Nashville Christian (8-0), Alcoa (8-0), Boyd Buchanan (7-0), Ravenwood (8-0), and Antioch (8-0).
Franklin Road Academy (6-1) and McCallie (6-2) complete the top ten, both having faced challenging schedules that keep them in contention.
The final spots remain sewed up with more contenders like Oak Ridge (8-0), Page (7-0) and Sevier County (6-1). Perennial powers Maryville (7-1) and South Pittsburg (7-1) stay put with Montgomery Bell Academy (5-2) and Walker Valley (7-1) rounding out the top 20.
With so many undefeated and one-loss teams crowding the rankings, Tennessee football fans can expect an intense finish as Week 10 approaches and postseason brackets begin to take shape.
