Here's our weekly fun piece where we review the biggest games around the state from last week. Today, we look back at Week #5 as the halfway point of the regular season is in the books.


No real surprises at the top, as some of the state's top teams in Baylor, Oakland, Sevier County, Alcoa & South Pittsburg all roll to easy Week 5 wins.

Just a week after dropping its first game in 11 months, McCallie established an early tempo and never looked back, en route to a 25-14 upset of 6th ranked Mission Viejo.


East Hamilton rolled to a 42-17 win over Lenoir City, doing its part to set up a Week Six showdown in Region 3 with Rhea County. But more on that later.

In a battle of Division II heavyweights, Montgomery Bell Academy nips Tyreek King and Knoxville Catholic for a narrow 13-10 win to remain unbeaten. Boyd Buchannan continues its dream season, ripping Chattanooga Christian 31-0 to move to 5-0.
