Halfway through the 2025 regular season, the fun now begins as we dive headfirst into region play. Every game counts. Jay Pace, Staff Writer for On Da Marc Sports.com take a glimpse at some of the biggest games around the state this week.
The Week That Will Be
The Scenic City Showdown. Baylor and McCallie meet in what is arguably the biggest regular-season game in the entire state in Week Six. Steeped in tradition and loaded with talent, these two programs are separated by less than 20 miles. Both teams have combined to win the last six Division II-AAA championships.
East Hamilton vs. Walker Valley
Class 5A Region 3 frontrunners East Hamilton take on Walker Valley in a crucial matchup with major postseason implications as we near the homestretch of the regular season.
Gibbs at Anderson County
Gibbs is on the outside looking in as they travel to Anderson County for a monster matchup in Class 4A Region 2. The Eagles are in a must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Knoxville Catholic at Ensworth
Coming off its second loss of the season, Ensworth faces a must-win game as Knoxville Catholic pays a visit. The Tigers have won the last two meetings by a combined score of 73-14 in 2023 and 2024. Will the trend hold in 2025?
Cleveland at Bradley Central
Neighborhood rivals collide as Cleveland travels to Bear Stadium where Bradley Central awaits. In the midst of its worst start in school history, Cleveland hopes to spoil BC’s playoff dreams. If the Blue Raiders pull the upset, chaos will ensue in Class 6A Region 2.
