Criminal Acts
7-time state champion, South Pittsburg issued its strongest statement yet in destroying Copper Basin 86-7 last night.
SOUTH PITTSBURG-The message should be abundantly clear. The road to a class 1A championship runs through South Pittsburg
What SPHS has done to the opposition in 2025 is nothing short of criminal.
Armed and dangerous, this band of Pirates should be approached with the most extreme of caution. A group of lawless, habitual offenders out of control.
Seeing But Not Believing …
Did South Pittsburg really lose in week one to Silverdale Academy? Is it true the Pirates were actually held scoreless in dropping a 10-0 decision to the Seahawks?
At this point, I need irrefutable proof before I'll believe it. I mean, just because the TSSAA lists it on their official website, does that make it so?
Maybe it was hacked. Maybe someone in the office was playing a joke and forgot to change it back.
Surely, there's a more plausible explanation than ‘they lost.’ Was the weather bad? Did the bus have a flat tire on the way to the stadium and caused them to forfeit? Someone out there knows the truth.
If you're trying to sell me some fairy tale involving a bona-fide SPHS loss, sorry, but I'm not buying.
After watching this team up close and in person take down 3-4a champ Red Bank a few weeks back, it's hard to fathom any team short of a handful of NFC North squads capable of beating SPHS.
SPHS lost? In football? In 2025? Sounds more like propaganda than fact.
Numbers Don’t Lie ..
I’m not accusing anyone of lying. I’m just having a hard time believing it really happened.
Here's why.
Since the alleged setback in week one, SPHS has ripped off eight straight wins. But merely classifying it as an eight game winning streak would be quite the injustice.
A more appropriate description would include words like dominant, roughshod and unstoppable.
Since Week two the Pirates have outscored their opponents 462-41. Their lowest margin of victory; a 24 point win over Red Bank on Sep. 26
In five of those eight wins, SPHS has scored 56 +. Defensively, they've allowed no more than eight (once) while pitching two shutouts.
Last night, they led by 44 after just one quarter of play. But you expect me to believe there’s a team out there that really beat this one?
If you say so.
