Each week we highlight the brightest stars with the biggest performances from around the state. Let's dive into to the top performers from week one in Tennessee.

Thomas Manu - QB - Alcoa

In one of the most intense and storied rivalries in the entire country, Manu forever etched his name into the annals of ‘The Battle Of Pistol Creek ‘.

In his very first start under center, the Alcoa quarterback put his team on his back and led them to a win over their arch nemesis, Maryville, in yet another instant classic between the two powerhouses.

Statistically, his numbers weren't eye popping, going 16 of 20 for 170 yards passing and 2 TDs. What made this night special was the fact that Manu was Maryville’s QB previously but transferred to rival Alcoa in the off-season. There was plenty of trash talking before the game by both teams prior to their battle on the gridiron and Manu was the topic of conversation from fans at both schools. During the game he stared down his old team as the field general of his new team and made big plays. The result, a thrilling, come from behind 28-21 win. It was Alcoa’s very first win as a member of class 4A. Previously, the Tornadoes, winners of 10 straight state titles, were a 3A school.

Roman Eulo. ATH. Walker Valley

Eulo delivered a virtuoso performance for the Mustangs in a decisive 28-3 week one win over rival Cleveland. He scored all 4 Mustang TDs to lead his team to a crucial week one win.

Owen Cabell. ATH. CPA

The Alabama commit was all over the field Friday night in the Lions narrow loss to 6A power Oakland..Cabell had 81 yards receiving and 2 TDs. He contributed on special teams, averaging 16.7 yards as a kickoff returner and he had 9 tackles on defense.

Kaedyn Marable. QB. Battleground Academy

Marable rushed for 2 TDs and passed for four more in a 48-13 win over Jackson Prep. He also completed 76.9% of his passes and finished with a QBR of 157.9.
