As we near the halfway point of the regular season, things are about to get really interesting with a slate full of marquee matchups before region play begins in earnest next week.
For now, we take a peek behind the curtain at Week Four in our weekly preview of some of the top games around the state.
The Week That Will Be…..
Maryville (2-1) at Cleveland (0-3)
It doesn't get any easier for the Blue Raiders this week when 17-time state champ, Maryville comes calling.

McCallie (3-0) at Ensworth (2-1)
Old foes collide in a rematch of last year's II-AAA semi-final game. McCallie has dominated its first three opponents, winning by an average of 34.6 points. But a stern test awaits Friday night in Nashville, as Tim Hasselbeck's Ensworth Tigers look to exact a measure of revenge.

Oakland (3-0) vs Pearl Cohn (0-3)
Pearl-Cohn steps into the fire once again this Friday night as the reigning 6A state champion Oakland Patriots pays a visit. Head Coach Kevin Creasy has built a dynasty in Murfreesboro. Pearl-Cohn will see it up close and in person Friday night when the Patriots visit The Music City.

Brentwood High School (2-1) vs. Page (3-0)
Head Coach Charles Rathbone and the Page Patriots are among the favorites to make a fifth consecutive trip to The Blue Cross Bowl in 2025.
Through the first three weeks of the season, Rathbone’s bunch has run roughshod over the competition. That competition is pretty good Friday night as Head Coach Clint Finch and the Brentwood Bruins travel to Franklin in what could be a bare knuckles brawl between a pair of successful head coaches and their highly regarded programs. Get there early. And grab some popcorn. This one should be a lot of fun.

East Ridge (3-0) vs. Red Bank (0-2)
The East Ridge Pioneers are 3-0 for the first time since 2017. Two of their three wins were by single digits. In both of those games, the Pioneers scored less than 10 points. A hungry and formidable foe lurks, as Red Bank looks to pick up its first win of the young season. Don't be fooled by the record, Red Bank is a fine football team. If senior RB Oliver ‘The Tank ‘ Merritt returns to the lineup……you better strap up.
