Friday Night Stars – Week 6
We take our weekly look at the top performers from around the state.
Dayon Cooper, RB
Cooper led a powerful South Pittsburg ground attack, rushing for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries to vanquish Red Bank, 31-7.
South Pittsburg Defense
It’s no secret that one of the cornerstones of SPHS’s championship legacy is its tenacious defense. Friday night against Red Bank, that tenacity forced six turnovers and kept the Red Bank offense in check all night, allowing just 277 total yards.
Kason Young, QB
Young had a big night in East Robertson’s 43-0 win over Hickman County. He completed 13 of his 16 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for an additional 60 yards. Young has put up some monster numbers early on this season, registering 884 yards passing with 8 touchdowns, adding 252 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns on the ground.
Lawrence Autry, RB
Autry’s dream season continued as he piled up four more touchdowns to lead Collierville past Bartlett. The Tulane commit, runs like his hair is on fire and he is an explosive playmaker that can make a house from any down or distance.
