Friday Night’s Brightest Stars
Rules are made to be broken, and within every rule exists an exception.
And on the rarest of occasions, the rule breaker also serves as the exception.
This space is reserved for Friday night's biggest stars with as we highlight the top performances each week from around the Volunteer state.
The Exception to the Rule
But this week is different. This time, we made an exception. Class of 2027 Antioch quarterback Andre Adams didn’t give us a choice.
Already considered one of the nation’s top prospects in the class of 2027, Adams’ star now shines a little brighter after his scintillating performance on last Friday night vs. Centennial. In leading his team to a 54-40 win, Adams was unstoppable. Literally.
10 Feet Tall & Bulletproof
Listed at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Adams looked more like he was ten feet tall and bulletproof. He filled up the state sheet going 19-of-27 for 507 yards and 4 TDs through the air. On the ground, he added 207 yards and 2 TDs on 18 carries. By night’s end, the junior standout had accounted for 714 yards of total offense and 6 TDs.
Recruiting Heat
College recruiters have already taken notice. Adams holds offers from Liberty, Louisville, NC State, Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Troy, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, to name just a few. With performances like last Friday night’s, that list is sure to keep growing.
Superman in Cleats
The previous mark of 713 yards was set in 2013 by Upperman’s Connor York, per the Tennessee Secondary School record book.
It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s Antioch’s Andre Adams. Superman in cleats.
